My family is moving to Blue Bell PA, and I have a new job at CHOP. chestnut hill west does jot go through downtown which is why its faster to 30th. the advantage here is you could catch the chestnut hill west in the morning and the east ffrom ucity station on the way home if you wanted. if you walk figure 75 minutes with drive, walk, train. last but not least its about half an hour from chestnut hill west to 30th st. its a 20-25 minute walk to chop from 30th. it runs every ten minutes and takes about 7-10 minutes. also bear in mind there is connecting bus service called the lucy shuttle that runs from 30th to the hospitals. a third option is to drive to glenside and catch the train there where service is more frequent.

there are at least three trains that do so from chestnut hill east which is just as close as norristown. that being said, theres one train from norristown that goes through tto university city directly departing 704 am taking abiut 45 min. trains going to trenton (ttc) or paoli/thorndale (pao/tho) do not. when looking at septa schedules note where the train goes after center aims going to delaware, elwyn, or the airport all stop at university city.
